Greetings Delegates.

I couldn't be more thrilled and delighted to be welcoming you to CAMUN 2020.  I am also very excited to preside over such an important Committee as the Security Council.

As one of the powers of the United Nations, the Security Council is a crucial organism that helps go towards one of the UN's main goals, peacekeeping. Such a goal is not only the prevention of wars and armed conflicts but pushing towards the respect of every person's Human Rights. Rights such as education, equality, private property, the right of self-determination, and democracy, which some may argue are constantly being violated in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.  Due to the recent problems and claims to the presidency of Venezuela, the United Nations must determine which is the legitimate government of this country and defends the rights of its people.

Such a complicated and important topic requires preparation. We expect great behavior, enthusiasm, respect, and a high level overall to have a productive and successful debate. I wish you all the best and overall recommend to make the most out of this great experience.
